nerve pain and B12 injection

I have neuropathy in my legs that I was born with and I get pain flares every so often. Today I noticed a particularly severe pain flare up after my subq b12 injection in the afternoon. The pain came on suddenly about 7 hours after my injection. It’s the usual leg pain I normally get - knees, upper thighs deep burning pain and tingling. I’ll have to wait and see if the pain spreads down both legs this time. I wonder is this a coincidence or should I expect more frequent b12 shots to trigger the pain more often? I never noticed a pattern of the pain increasing with my b12 shots before. My neuropathy doesn’t really have a pattern to it but I expect it’s been worse when my b12 is low.

Initially I did get more pain . I expect everything waking up.

I didn't have anything going on before b12 deficiency to compare too.

I m only guessing but a surge of b12 may well try and heal nerves.

You can also hit a nerve that might set off this chain reaction when injecting too.

I do notice if I've painful legs and hips a b12 injection does help and I sleep better. 😴

It happens 40% when nerves wake up. You should continue inject often to get better. Most inject 2-3 times per week. How often do you SI?

i just started on an OOD injection schedule (for 1 week). I’m on my 3rd injection. Then I’ll be on 2-3 per week and then stick to 1 shot a week for the long term. My levels are low right now & I have bad fatigue and brain fog. I’m so grateful that I can self injection now. And my doc even ordered subcutaneous injections and insulin needles so it will hurt less.

nice. That’s good that your needles are also pretty thin so it hurts less.
