Recently I asked for advice here regarding eGFR test results. Anything 60 or under is cause for concern. Over time my test results fell from 77 to 75 to 60 to 58. In May I stopped taking most of the nutritional supplements I had added over time. Chief culprit was creatine, which, apparently, is known to sometimes interfere with eGFR test results. Monday my eGFR test was repeated; the result was a score of 80.
I have asked my doctor to switch my B12 injection prescription from Cyanocobalamin (I am in the US, where Cyanocobalamin is used almost exclusively for B12 injection) to Hydroxocobalamin, which is rarely used here. Hopefully the change will happen, and I will wait for at least several months to resume the supplements that I ceased taking in May, so as to not "muddy the water". I will update as more is known regarding a possible change to Hydroxocobalamin.
Thanks to all here for all of the information and support over the past few years. Your assistance has been, and I am sure will continue to be, invaluable.

I'm still having trouble finding any Hydroxocobalamin in the US. I use Atvaris 30ml bottles, but haven't been able to find any since about a year ago. Where will be getting yours from?
Hope this helps, I heard about us compounding pharmacies on a podcast recently and I use one in the UK to get some private thyroid treatment. I tried Google with this search phrase and I think it pulled a load up “us compounding pharmacy hydroxocobalamin” I can see Bayview, Empower and Olympia there and there must be quite a few more.
My local pharmacist (town of 2000) told me she could get it on the 30ml flasks. Maybe things will change when she actually puts in the order - provided, of course, that the physician submits the prescription.
Didn’t know that about creatine, is it something to worry about or just that it impacts result but not actually kidney disease? I find it helps massively with my DOMs that is hypothyroid related
My kidney function and GFR started to be negatively impacted after my cardiac bypass surgery. It fell rapidly from mid 80's to high 20's back in 2010. Over the years it has improved to high 30's to low 40's. It thankfully has been stable for the last five years. I don't know if my aggressive, twice daily SI routine has had a positive impact or not. I use hydroxo and had to switch to cyano during the shortage but have found Walgreens to be a stable supplier for the last six months or so. They supply the Atvaris 30 ml vials. I still have half of a box of the Apohealth hydroxo in case another shortage hits us here in the USA.
