Covid hits

I tested positive for covid on Saturday; it hit with vengeance but is easing off slightly today. Can I ask if anyone increased their b12 injections then they had covid, and if so, did it help? I have been injecting once a week prior to this infection.

As you are on weekly b12 Injections i would personally continue the same presently and maybe up when you are out and about again .

Rest snd good food and lots of water while the virus runs its course.

I did this and it did help me with the extra fatigue in recovery .

I also took a multuvit and a few extras .

Thank you for your reply. This has been my approach so far; I am also taking additional vit c and drinking lots of honey and lemon.

I've always needed a few extra jabs when I've had Covid to get over the fatigue. I'm sure this sneaky virus hits us where we are weakest! Although, every time I get it, (I've lost count now) it seems more mild. I thought the last bout was a summer cold until I did a courtesy test before taking the Grandkids to their swimming lesson - I didn't fancy giving a group of two year olds and their parents the lurgy! 😷

Thank you for your reply; I picked this up doing helping out with my grandchild as my daughter was ill. It is only my second bout of covid and I hate being out of action.

Grandchildren are a blessing, but they are also little petri dishes. Our youngest gave us all norovirus a couple of weeks ago 🤮

I completely agree; you know it's coming but it's impossible to stay away 😊

Anytime I’m sick I take extra. I was recently sick as well. It’s that time of year unfortunately.

Thank you for your reply. It seems to be rife here. I cannot remember how unwell I was last time; I feel slightly different though; definitely the new variant. I may try just one extra jab, but will see how I am today.

Covid floors me and i have to double up on injections to avoid a crash but we’re all different.

Thank you for your reply. It is interesting to hear how everyone is so different; I am thinking about an extra now; I am better than I was at first but still having rough nights and not up to anything during the day.

I had to increase my B12 jabs when Inhad Covid and flu

Thank you for your reply. I have not had flu for many years and only had covid twice; although before SI weekly, I was constantly getting colds that lingered. Maybe an extra injection might help.

I always increase from EOD to daily, even twice a day at times when I am poorly or in a stressful period. You can’t overdose on B12. Because we’re all different listen to your body.

That's helpful to know; I do occasionally add an extra injection if I have been very busy; as covid is such a stress on the body it does make sense to add extra injection.

So sorry you have Covid, I ve not had it yet but I would keep injecting and increase them if symptoms reappear/worsen. All best wishes, hope you feel better soon. X

Make sure to up your potassium and iron intake if doing daily injections. Also increase folic /folinic acid supplements if not already.

Good advice, thank you. I do take daily iron and vit d and twice weekly methylfolate alongside weekly injections, following advice from Dr K. It has truly transformed my life.

I did twice daily when I had covid or shingles and for a few weeks after (I normally SI hydroxocobalamin once daily). I'm absolutely sure it helped me based on previous covid infections and not doubling up.
