Keeping the balance of vitamines

This is the conclusion of an article that talks about keeping various vitamins in balance.

As always, proper research should be done on amounts of any vitamin, what their cofactors are.

"Dietary deficiency of Iodine, Selenium and/or Molybdenum can lead to an

inability to activate dietary or supplemental vitamin B2. This in turn leads to

an inability to maintain the functional activity of vitamin B12. Prolonged lack

of active vitamin B2 eventually leads to an accumulation of inactive vitamin

B12 in serum, with a gradual increase in the absolute amount of serum B12.

Thus, elevated vitamin B12 is found in serum, yet the B12 is largely inactive,

leading to a condition of Paradoxical vitamin B12 deficiency."

Hello B12life,

So I was reading your posts on your injections, I have started to inject cyano everyday now 1 ml every 6 hours and has help sooo much, I'm on my 5th month of injections and this month I started to do every day.

I think it's too early to start any walking but I was wondering when you do your injections do you do them a on a schedule or every so many hours?

and when did you start doing exercises ?

I have to inject every day now as I'm starting to feel better and so now if im doing more I need to inject more I notice.

thank you,

Rosina

Probably no need to do more than you are. Every 6 to 12 hours is good.

My serum b12 level before my first injection was 190. The cause for my b12 deficiency is metabolic meaning it wasn't because I don't eat meat. I eat a lot of meat but just do not have the ability to process b12 orally. So my journey may be different.

For me, I started walking about 8-12 months into the injections, but mild walking. Do it once you start getting a little extra energy. Start with just short walks. Sometimes I overdid it and it would set me back for a few days or a week depending on how much I overdid it. It's a live and learn thing. It also took a lot of patience. I don't like lounging, but I had to do a lot of it until about 14 months, then I started being able to walk a mile, by 2 years I was really able to do long steep hikes. Bike rides and more. So really, there is hope and it just takes patience.

I believe the exercise helps metabolize the b12 but when your in the early stages your still healing.

Glad to hear there is progress!!!

this sounds good yes to just hold back, yes it's hard to lay down a lot, but that is when I do a lot of praying so that is a good thing out of all this, but I do at times want to go on walks again but I should wait. I'm afraid to over do things. I'm able to get out now and do family things now and the store and things more comfortable now so the extra b12 is for sure helping, my nerves start hurting if I get low. my feet and back mostly .

yes your posts give hope to everyone and thank you for sharing everything. Oh yes what are your cofactors like?

Doesn't hurt to start with a very shot distance and see how you respond. You won't know until the next day.

Starting out I was so tired that even after a full night sleep, a shower would devastate my energy. Now I don't even think about it. I say try and see what it does.

Oh B12life,

I was wondering what it was like for you at 5 months of injections? I had to do an extra inj today, I've been doing a lot this week with grandkids events and a wedding . I felt my muscles in low back start to spasm and I felt like I couldn't even get up after a rest. I went to Mass this morning and did my usual but then I felt like uh oh I better lay down, then I thought wow I better do an extra shot so I did. 1 ml cyano. I'll see how I do the rest of the day and I will get extra time in bed too.

It will take time after you have overdone it. It could take days or a week. But it's really how you learn.

To me 5 months I still felt like hell. Tired, brain fog, poor coordination, sciatica. But I was ever so gradually improving. Couldn't exercise at that point. It was just trying to work and do the ABSOLUTE minimum.

I couldn't retain things. I found KT comprehend scentance was people were speaking.

It takes 4 years to deplete b12 thus it will take time to get your levels back up and to heal.

Thank you B12life for your reply it does help for reasurance big time God Bless you. I don't think I will try to exercise yet either, I'm just not ready and need more healing first. but today is a little better so far, that can change I'm learning. I always have trouble in the shower with my back getting to tight by the end of the shower in the eve so I have to lay down first calm my back down then blow dry my hair.

I inject every 3 hours and inject if my body wakes me up at night. I no longer have to regulate my life other than to rest more when I do more and that is on the wane.

I is hard emotionally to trust that I should not listen to others who believe they know what is enough or too much for me.

I have always gone with the concept that is I can use up my B12 than I am not injecting enough.

I recently did a trial of injecting what I felt was the absolute minimum for 6 days and it took me 8 days to fully recover from that trial. I got lots of information about my body which is why I do trials not simply blindly hoping I stumble on something that works.

I like my results! I am not done designing trials yet.

I think that you have demonstrated people should do what works!!! And not just abide by a text book schedule!!!!

WIZARD6787 profile image
WIZARD6787 in reply toB12life

That is not what I do no matter how many times you claim it is all I or anyone can do.

Without the textbooks and understanding their limitations I would only be able to mitigate. When I paint I do not invent the canvas. That does not mean my work is just doing what works.

Wel Wizard6787,

how long have you been injecting and how long were you deficient? It helps me to see others how they began until how they are now. I'm wondering how long until my nerves fully heal I was with symptoms for 6 1/2 years.

WIZARD6787 profile image

I have injected for 4 years. 1 at levels that were not severely under supplementing. 1mg a day.

I have experienced B12 deficiency my whole life resulting in my being 4 weeks from death when it was severe enough that even the doctors could diagnosis it.

My peripheral nephropathy was all but healed with B6, Methyl Folate acid and B12. Still working on my neurological system and energy production at the cellular level.

I no longer post about my journey due to it not being healthy for me to interact with those that instruct with bad information instead of sharing.

You could go to my profile and read my posts and comments although it might be laborious.

Once reason I do not advise or instruct as my understanding evolves as I do the work necessary to heal.

Well thank you Wiz for sharing, it still helps to know what we all go through I believe . as for me I'm still learning how this all works and it's different for everyone more or less it seems. I just think I over did it this week and I'm feeling it. I'm not sure how long it takes to recover but today was a little scary and I'm doing better this eve. just no outings for me this eve and laying in bed mostly . My extra inj will be tonight so maybe tomorrow I will feel better. thank you again.

well yes thank you for the information it's so helpfull,

I wonder if it all goes by our metabolism , like if we have a high or fast metabolism we use it up faster than someone with a slower rate of metabolism, I feel like I have a fast one. I was always so energetic and very athletic and on the go for others. so I feel like mine is gone or used up so fast. I'm trying to slow down because I don't want an episode and I feel like wow I just had a injection a few hours ago, I also have to remember I'm only 5 months in and have to be careful so my nerves have time to heal. it was 6 1/2 years of symptoms until I was diagnosed with B12 d then lately with PA.

So I'm so greatful for you that have let it be known that you have to inject more often and that is just the way our bodies work and what our bodies need.
