Hi, has anyone had a private virtual video consultation with Dr Klein of the Cambridge Iron Clinic? Just wondering how it went and does it work well through this medium. Or, has anyone been referred to him through the NHS? He also works at Papworth hospital. I’m not asking for comments on Dr Klein but does the system work well ie. the video consulting and referrals.🙂

Has Anyone Had a Virtual Consultation?

I had my first consultation with him face to face as needed iron transfusion as well as antibody blood tests but my follow up was virtual and worked very well, did not feel rushed and was very happy. His clinic is not NHS so made my initial enquiry through his website. Money well spent seeing him.
Thanks M, very helpful and reassuring indeed. I did not make contact through the iron clinic but through the secretary at Papworth hospital where he works also. So I was wondering if my GP could make a referral to him through the nhs and indeed if he accepted such referrals. Your blood tests, were they done through the nhs? Does he send his findings to one’s GP? Thanks again.
As far as I am aware his b12 and iron hat is completely separate to his work within the NHS so it was entirely a private consultation arranged through him. The blood tests he arranged were the ones my g.p refused to do but he does give you letters which you can pass to your own g.p . I seem to recall a YouTube video I saw of him where he did say his consultations on b12/iron and anemia were sadly not available through the NHS. His letters are worth having they are comprehensive and informative and made my g.p think twice about saying anything negative to me about self injection.
I only had a virtual consultation with him due to the distance and being too unwell to travel. Worked very well for me. It's also cheaper than face to face. You won't get a referral to him via NHS for iron & B12 as this is his private practice. And definitely money well spent.
