Just watched the video . Thanks . I’m just afraid that the stuff that might work, which he referred to , might be horribly expensive . The devices that you can buy on Amazon are apparently useless according to the video
. He doesn’t give precise information on how to obtain the PBM devices that he uses .
I have peripheral nerve damage in my feet caused by very delayed treatment for P.A. ( curse the doctors ) and would love to find some treatment that worked .
My concern would be that those behind the videos are promoting false hope when research on viable techniques to heal neurological damage is still at early stages. I think you can be sure that if a viable and safe cure for neurologic damage was found it would make headline news and change standards of care. There IS some interesting research happening but I don't think we are quite there yet.
There's a lot of infrared light in sunshine, so spending time outdoors is a way to get IR for free. It even passes through clothing (if not too heavy), so no need to undress or be exposed to too much UV.
In general I have turned against youtube video's about health. . . . . Too many quacks
I did however have two 20kw propane ifrared heaters in my workshop for some years and while many didnt like them I did . . . . .
Oddly I have been considering heat pumps and all sorts of late as I do at the end of every winter and the associated costs of winter and I ordered a 400w IR panel for above my bed kinda reminiscing about the nice glow ye feel. . . . . . . With that I'd think that any potential benefits are from the feel good feeling of heat on your skin. . . . . . IR heaters are really good at making ye feel good. . . . . . Having read about IR heat and wavelengths in he past and of a few days ago again I cant really see this standing up to its claims .. . . .
I have a small infra red/red light pad I bought a couple of years ago for back pain. In desperation I've recently tried it for severe gastritis pain, and it's comforting although reading the data it probably doesn't penetrate beyond the exterior cushioning... However, research does show there is an effect on nerves, but it depends on the proximity and capacity of the device. I'm now trying it on a pesky area on my left shin that is coming back to life quite alarmingly with random bouts of intense pain. It's hard to tell, but i feel it is helping as I've had fewer episodes. There is good evidence for light therapy, it can even penetrate the skull and reach the brain, but so much depends on the device (lots if quackery around!) and good ones can be mega expensive.
I'll do an update in a couple of weeks. From my reading, the closer you can get to the near IR source, the better for healing. So wearables in contact with the skin if possible, rather than panels. Of course eyes are different x
Hi there. My understanding is that the healing infrared light is the Near Infrared. I have used it it but didn't keep it up. You can buy a bank of lights from places like Redlight Man and I think Red Light rising. There is lots of information online. Near infrared is said to penetrate deeper than ordinary infrared light. There are different colours too which gets a bit confusing. NIL is not warm where's FR infrared light get quite hot.
I recently saw an article where IR light was being used intra-orally, to heal the terrible mouth ulcers and burns caused by radiation and chemotherapy in oral cancer. So I presume that medical grade devices ( no doubt prohibitively expensive) do have benefit.
Am familiar with infrared for nerve healing. Was recommended this by a naturopath recently. There’s a good website for home use from the naturopath (Australia based) which I considered very expensive to purchase. Comes in different sizes (have seen celebrities use for their wrinkles) but, science doesn’t back. If you wish to consider an infrared salon to give it a try and make your own conclusions, maybe check your local area/city, if you experience any benefits. (I personally wouldn’t get too excited about)
Injecting B12 is the only way to heal and to repair damaged nerves.
There is some evidence to show red light therapy can help increase the growth and multiplication of different cell types, so it could possibly assist the action of B12 in healing the myelin sheath in more superficial nerves. But there's not really enough research yet. I do believe that as we are light sensitive beings (eg. circadian rythym, Vit D synthesis, acne healing) the right kind of targeted light can be very powerful. Here's a link to one interesting piece of research:-pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/257...
I have not used Infrared Light to heal or shorten healing time. I do not hold the belief that it if worked it would be part of medicial practice any more than successful B12 treatment.
I reviewed the video and the website. I noted that the products are not returnable if used. This means there is little consumer protection. I find the fact that there are no returns to be reason enough not to buy the product from the physician.
