Auto injector advice please

I SI B12, but my daughter is needle phobic so I have to do her injections regularly for her. She would like to try an auto injector... Where do I begin? Any advice welcome as to where to purchase and tips on how to use (especially if you are needle phobic). How did you find it? Did it help? is it painless?

I can't always be there for her to inject, so going forward she needs to learn herself.

Thank you

Which method do you use for injecting? Intra-muscular (I.M.) or Sub- cutaneous (Sub-Cut) If you use I.M., did you know that you can use sub-cut ,which is less intimidating than I.M.as the needle used is much shorter and much finer .? This method is just as successful . That might be easier for your daughter .

I know of an auto -injector . It is made in Denmark Look at —

unionmedico.com

This auto injector can be used for both methods .

I have never used one , it i believe some members have .

There are other auto - injectors available

Owen Mumford Auto injectors and go on the site .

As this is for a fixed needle . I assume that it’s for a sub cutaneous injection . Found this on Amazon u.k. Dony know if this is suitable for you

I suspect this sort of reaction to self injecting is due to lack of familiarity with syringes/needles etc. Perhaps handling them while practicing injecting into an orange would help your Daughter as it has mine.

She has many procedures and blood tests in hospital settings. Just hates the sight of needles.

Hmm - I understand that - however experience shows that frequent exposure in safe settings results in decline in such reactions.

After 10 years it doesn't appear to be working hence why we are looking at auto injectors

Hi there. I can certainly relate. I am very needle phobic and I use the Ambimedinc Inject-Ease Automatic injector. It is for subcutaneous only. I have been using it for years and couldn’t live without it. The website is: ambimedinc.com

Good Luck!!

Thank you. Where did you buy and is it ok with any size syringe? I cannot get the instruction video to play. Hope it is easy to use.

I’ve looked on that site . You can’t buy it there , but you are told to buy it from Amazon . At Amazon it is no longer available . Looked in the feedbacks which say that it is for 0.3 ml syringe only ( didn’t know there was such a small size!) Will not take 1ml syringe .

I don’t think that that feedback was accurate

Found one on desertcart.co.uk

for £48.00 Have a look

Best wishes .

I woukd really try and encourage hef to try subcutaneous injections. My husband had to conquer his fears to survive.

Now injects insulin 4x z day.

Help can be sought to overcome this .
