Automatic injector

Hi could anyone point me in the direction of where I can source an auto injector I have such a fear of needles that I’m dreading when the time comes to start the b12 injections,I have this habit of running away from things that terrorise me so I’m trying to prepare in advance so I don’t act daft,it’s a very real fear for me.thank you in anticipation x

I bought the Union Medico online, I've used it for over a year now and recommend it. I self inject IM in the thigh.

Syringes:

BD 3ml Luer-Lok Tip

Needles: 21G x 1½" 0,8mm x 40mm

Good luck!

The Union Medico one is the only one I could find. Like palmtop, I've been using mine over a year also & find it great. You still have to press the plunger manually, but the frightening part is done for you by pressing a button after releasing the safety switch, all done with one hand.

Also, the BD Luer lock syringes they come with are more expensive than the everyday syringes from Medisave & they are wider also, so the everyday syringes won't fit the injector.

The auto injector is from Copenhagen Denmark, & it really has helped me. Good luck.

Hi Ritchie1268 thank you for responding.

I’m hitting a few walls already not sure if it’s just me being dim and not doing things properly.

I tried to order b12 from bodfeld in Germany as recommended to me but they emailed back saying they couldn’t send to U.K. and also it was prescription only which is disappointing and seems to be a new thing as I know people who have managed to order for delivery to U.K.,possibly brexit issue who knows.

I can’t seem to order the injector online so I’ve emailed them and asked for help with that,I can be quite dense sometimes so it’s more than likely I’m not doing it properly, any tips would be much appreciated and thank you so much again x

Try Versandapo, another German pharmacy. I got another 100 B12 ampoules before all the Brexit stuff as I was worried I wouldn't get any after.

If you're using your phone to order the injector, it won't work. I think I had to use my laptop in the end as I had all sorts of issues using my phone.

They are very quick at replying to emails.

Let me know if you're still struggling.

That is a lot you're right.

I think mine cost around €100.

There are different types on the website. If I remember right, the stainless steel one was around €200?

Hi Ritchie1268 crikey what’s morning it’s been I’ve been trawling through stuff again so long story short I just put the order in it’s probably because I ordered the syringes and needles then dhl delivery on top so I got there eventually with your help lol.

I’d no luck with the pharmacies so again after a lot of searching I found an old suggestion to go into my amazon account settings and change the country to Germany keep language in English ,type in product your looking for as normal then it throws up all the German suppliers,I had to go through each one adding to basket then trying to check out and they all came up saying they couldn’t deliver to my U.K. address.i got to the very last one and woopee struck it lucky so I’ve ordered 100 via amazon.the only company I could order from was counterapo.it ended up costing 89 euros as postage was 29.89 euros but beggars can’t be choosers and still better than paying £40 upwards here for one shot privately.

I hope you don’t have any future difficulties obtaining it so be a good dea for you and anyone else to keep this info handy just in case.

Thanks so much again you’ve been brilliant and patient xx

I remember having to use a translation app on my laptop to order B12.

I'm hoping things like this will be sorted out once Brexit has settled down. I have 110 ampoules to last till I need to order again but thanks for the info.

You're welcome, not a problem.

If it wasn't for the helpful people on here that helped me when I was struggling I don't know what I'd have done. Good luck

Have ordered 19 Feb 20 from mycare.de cost £64 for 100 ampoules delivered. It remains to be seen if they cancel the order or deliver. This is clearly going to be a major problem and of course Brexit may well effect it. I do not understand why the NHS has made this a prescription only item. You can make this post widely available if you think it will help.
