Sell by date of B12

Hello Everyone

I hope you are all doing well and making progress.

I was wondering with regards to B12 ampules:-

When the expiry date, for example, says 02/24..... Does that mean the beginnning of the month or the end?

Or providing the ampules are kept boxed in the dark in the fridge at about 10 degrees will they last even longer?

Anyone used out of date ampules before ???

Kindest regards

Jeff

It's the end of that month.I would only use out of date b12 if desperate.

I would be concerned about effacy.

It's a personal choice .

If the ampoules have been well stored away from light I’ve used them with no ill effects for up to 2 months past BBD. For me, that’s been my limit, mindful that you can get them with a 2 year life. Please note this is my personal choice and experience 🤷🏼‍♀️

I can only agree with all that’s been said already.

Out of interest I have just received 100 x Pascoe B12 from Apohealth in Germany as running out.

Last batch from them 06/24.

This batch purchased almost 3 months later is 03/24.

Clearly stock rotation is an issue!

Unfortunately I have experienced exactly the same with regards to sell by dates. Very frustrating

yes it is and a bit worrying as to how such vital stock is managed.

I Did email once to ask for sell by dates and they replied saying "it's impossible to tell due to turnover". So maybe it's not a priority as long as it's IN DATE.

that’s interesting. I suppose the use by date only becomes significant if the frequency of injection means you can’t use all the box before it’s sell by date.

It is a pain but I SI daily. I am now thinking of trying cyano cobalamin as it apparently has a much longer shelf life. Also hopefully if it works just as well for me then tbat would really help with availability too.
