Hi All,

I guess this may have been posted in past so apologies if it has but thought recent new members might be interested.

Club B12 is a group of researchers and other interested people who share research about B12.

I believe PAS (Pernicious Anaemia Society) has some input into this group.

They are currently in the process of registering as a charity.

I thought those of you with interested GPs could alert them to fact that Club B12 is hosting a conference in Cambridge in September 2023

"14th International conference on One-Carbon Metabolism, B Vitamins and Homocysteine"

There were also a couple of news items

I've now read that the membership of the group is worldwide.

Thank you for this link Sleepy Bunny.

Reading the introduction is such a very sad story as well as the fact that information on B12 is not on the medical teaching curriculum any longer. 😱

Hi Polaris, I was shocked to hear in the introductory video that it hadn't been on the curriculum for ten years and I felt tearful hearing the story he told.

It made me wonder how many children and young adults are suffering right now from dietary B12 deficiency, undiagnosed PA and B12 deficiency from other causes.

Maybe some of us could pass this link on to GPs, specialists and other health professionals. The group is worldwide so of interest to doctors/health professionals and researchers in other countries besides UK.

Hi SB. Coincidentally, just had a phone call from a very dear friend, who is recovering from a stroke (on Metformin!). She mentioned her grandson and daughter in law visited and are expecting their first child.

I can’t help it - my heart sank when she told me they are vegan………

Hopefully they've read this B12 article from Vegan Society

or maybe this one from B12 Info.com about B12 deficiency in pregnancy

Links your friend might find useful about metformin and B12 deficiency

Thank you so much for your links, Sleepy Bunny❤️, much appreciated, but I’ve already tried - sent Sally Pacholok’s book, (friend’s an ex nursing sister), but it was given to her psychologist son, who rubbished it 😢. Sadly I’ve had to accept they’d rather listen to doctor’s opinion and won’t even try supplementing.

Heartbreaking, thinking about how many friends and family are being affected now we’re all much older. BigPharma have such a lot to answer for.
