Providing advice on safe sources for self injection

As a charity our sponsors are not able to actively promote self injection without medical supervision.

The PAS recognise that no medical procedure - including injections - is entirely without risks. The supply of injectable B12 for medical reasons without a prescription is illegal in many countries, though individuals do rely humanitarian regulations that allow individuals to source privately from outside their country of residence when the medicine is not available locally. Ironically the supply of injectable B12 for non-medical reasons is often legal in these same countries but as this forum is about a medical condition this forum is obviously about the medical use of B12.

In allowing the exchange of information on safe sources of injectable B12 between those who have already decided that their only option is to self inject, we are seeking to prevent the greater harm that would be caused by using poor grade or even unsafe sources.

There are other options, including the use of high dose oral, nasal delivery and even some types of skin patches that may help but we recognise that these don't work for everyone which can leave members of the forum feeling they have no option but to source for self injection, rather than face significant loss in quality of life and risks of damage from inadequately treated B12 absorption problems.
