symptoms coming and going

Hey guys,

I posted on here recently about getting twitches from my b12 loading doses. Thankfully they have gone for the most part within a week. However, over the past couple days, I have been overthinking and picking apart my speech for some reason. I believe that when I talk, my lips arent really following a normal speech pattern if that makes sense.

Its kind of like its harder to talk, maybe a bit of resistance around my mouth when I talk. I have my final injection in 2 days and need to explain to the nurse incase it gets worse. Does anyone know what it is or have experienced it? is there a name for this/is it normal? Sorry for the bad explanation, will try explain it better if anyone has any questions. Thanks :)

As your other symptoms all gone already which is amazing you ate bound to get a few odd new ones .

Every time i tried to explain symptoms to a nurse i got blank looks and said it wasnt the b12. Even tried to stop the injections and refer bwck to a doctor.

So good luck in trying to explain. And getting a response.

My jaw also seized up.

Try putting your tongue to the roof of your mouth and relax your jaw.

Your mind might be racing.

Nerves and messaging in your brain perhaps waking up/ misfiring.

Try and go with the flow .

You have some good advice from Nackapan !

You can get weak muscles - usually more obvious ones like legs starting to shake if having to stand still without support for any length of time. I used to get "shivery eyes" when they got tired of concentrating. So could be tired muscles in jaw ? Finding food hard to swallow has been mentioned before -and I think this is also about same muscles tiring.

Also, your tongue can swell - so jaw-clamping can cause tongue to end up looking like a Cornish pasty from pressing against back of teeth ! Burning tongue/ red smooth tongue can also be quite common symptoms.

Feels like overthinking - I remember almost hearing my brain telling my legs what to do when walking uphill back from shops. Would end up taking a very long time and a lot of effort getting back sometimes. Physically and mentally quite exhausting.

I'm still stuck with the burning tongue, but legs now do what they are told without any effort.

I agree with wedgewood - that Nackapan 's advice sound.

Sense of smell: when that started awakening, I could have sworn that the local supermarket smelled of sewage as soon as the sliding doors opened. Made my partner promise to only buy tinned goods there, I was so convinced.

Confused and confusing signals. Your brain will work it out as you continue to mend, I'm sure. Medical professionals do not have a long list of symptoms attributable to B12 deficiency, so continue to underestimate the impact this has on our lives.

For a better idea, I would look at the Pernicious Anaemia Society website or Tracey Wittys blogs and website. Or ask here. Always someone here to help.
