Afternoon, I am looking for a multivitamin liquid for injection, is there anywhere that sells this?

Pretty sure I am not absorbing vitamins properly, currently inject B12.

Thanks.

Please be aware, there are some vitamins that can be problematic if you overdo them, eg B6.Whilst PA can affect the absorption of other vitamins and minerals the mechanisms for other vitamins and minerals aren't quite as specialised on a specific absorption mechanism as B12 so in most cases oral doses will resolve the problem - though I would strongly recommend at least talking to a pharmacist before going down the root of using very high dose supplements, particularly if you are taking other medication

Hi!

Thank you, as ever, for your care and concern and all your thoughtful contributions.

The upper daily intake limit of B6 for adults is considered to be 100mg per day. The effective daily dose is up to 2mg per day.

Yes, it is very important to be wary of exceeding upper intake limits, but it is also important to be aware of how likely this is with supplements (ie how much what you are taking actually contains), how much you are going to actually get (bioavailablility), and how vital the vitamin or mineral in question is.

"High dose" B vitamin supplements usually have up to 2mg in them. While we do have to be careful, people are unlikely to take 50 or even 20 tablets a day. If there are gut malabsorption issues (which cannot be assumed and we have to err on the side of caution) it is possible to need higher oral intakes to achieve a suitable uptaken amount to allow for the percentage that is wasted by an inefficient gut absorption situation. These circumstances need carefully worded caveats, as on here we have to assume that any person reading these notes does have good absorption.

Usually a standard dose will cover most people's needs but even if someone takes several times this, is not considered likely to be harmful.

The best source of all vitamins and minerals, by far, is from our diet by eating red meats, fish and as wide as range of vegetables, salads and fruits as possible, as these all have "magic ingredients"; compounds that provide additional benefits beyond the basic building blocks of vitamins and minerals.

While what I have written above is just taken from my basic knowledge, I did find the following on B6 quite interesting, and knowing how poor I usually am at including papers, I thought I'd add it to slightly make up for my usual lack of references! 😃

Recommended upperlimits for B6 vary considerably - with the EU and UK having levels that are much lower than 100mcg. Doses under 100mcg a day have resulted in neurological issues but there hasn't been a reported result supplementation under 100mcg per day causing neurological problems that did not reverse when supplementation stopped but there have been cases of supplementation above this level where the damage was permanent.

My UK GP had the limit on his notes at 100mg/day when I queried it for someone else and this was following what I initially considered a high dose (12mg/day) prescribed by a hospital.

Knowing how unreliable they can be when it comes to nutrition, and the frequent warnings on here, I thought it prudent to check thoroughly... And discovered my findings above.

As with most things too little has very serious consequences, as does too much, and thankfully in the case of B6 there is not much chance of causing problems with too much unless you specifically focus on doing so, because of the safety margins built in. If taken as part of a multivitamin or B complex, you are likely to cause problems with high doses of the other ingredients before you reach a problematic dose of B6.

What makes you pretty sure you are not absorbing other vitamins and which vitamins specifically. Water soluble or fat soluble. What are your symptoms that give rise to your views? I ask because as Gambit has said there are other conditions that give rise to lack of absorption besides PA and some of the quite specific. In some of those cases injecting or oral administration of vitamins could mask a structural problem. By that I mean something like IBD, coeliac or Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency to name just 3.I would personally start with identifying the symptoms and work from there.

I would be inclined to take a modest multi vitamin and mineral tablet and make sure that you are getting a good diet . You can possibly get multi vitamin injections from fancy clinics .(Very expensive ) Or obtain multi vitamin injections from German online pharmacies . If you have PA you will have low/ no stomach acid ( Hypochlorhydria/ Achlorhydria) which does impede the absorption of minerals and vitamins. try taking a probiotic which helps friendly bacteria or eat probiotic foods lime real yoghurt ! kimchi and kefir . That will help digestion and absorption . Best wishes .
