Is there any relationship between teeth hypersensitivity and B12 deficiency?

All of a sudden my molar tooth which was already filled started to ache so badly. My dentist was told me it requires root canal almost a year ago but it was fine untile four days ago after I tried to floss and pressurized air between teeth. Then all of a sudden severe pain started. My b12 deficiency symptoms are getting improved and I was happy of getting rid of it but now hypersensitivity of my molar tooth started. I can't eat or sleep no painkillers work and it's steady pain cause my b12 deficiency symptoms to return to somehow. I tried lots of things like enamel repair toothpaste, hypersensitivity toothpaste. I tried Salt water gargle, baking soda wash, turmeric , Tylenol powder wash but non of them worked. I'm going to see dentist today, but this pain doesn't go away. I think dentin is exposed in somewhere probably gum line broken and dentin under gum is sensitized or filling chipped. The best way is root canal but it's not affordable for me at this time. Other option is sealant and also using numbness get temporarily until sensitivity get fixed until dentin covered by enamel fixing paste. My question is is that related to B12 deficiency as nerves hyperactive in order to get repaired. Currently I have severe tinnitus along with double vision blurry eyesight and muscle weakness, numbness in hands back and neck and pain in muscles but lots of these symptoms improved except double vision which is related to lack of eye muscles coordination due to muscle power change on both eyes and brain can't coincide two images, but this symptom also getting improved. I gave no idea why I have too much pain in my tooth but I think it's related to B12 deficiency since that of much of pain can't take that long without abscess or swelling. It's throbbing pain. Hypersensitivity to pressure on tooth that's why I can't eat anything.

Please share your experience and help to find a way to get rid of it.

I had root canal work for the first time. Unfortunately failed as delays in between treatments as covid emergency care too late .I hadcto have it out.

So get yo the dentist to save your tooth.

B12 affects your mouth and gums znd teeth .

I asked the senior dentist.

He replied of course b12 deficiency affects your teeth!

Ax s 'emergency ' appointment couldn't ask more

I have had dreadful trouble with my teeth- four of them fell out. my dentist said 'what do you expect when you had b12 deficiency for so long.'

I'm lucky that I've only lost a couple of teeth and the nerves in 2 or three more. It's dreadful, isn't it. I know of people who lost most of their teeth before they could get enough treatment.

Dentist told me B12 deficiency in two ways affect teeth first it causes dry mouth and dry mouth cause bacteria overgrowth in mouth and decay teeth. In the meantime low B12 cause lower immune system.

I would trust yourself if you feel like this tooth hypersensitivity is related to your B12 deficiency and subsequent treatment/improvement. I was diagnosed with PA this fall and over the last summer, some of my symptoms started to get to the point that I couldn't ignore or write them off any longer as just stress etc.

Last summer, a tooth I had drilled many years ago started giving me grief, along with some other teeth that I hadn't had problems with previously. The dentist warned me I might need a root canal. I tried the super high strength numbing toothpastes from Sensodyne (not sure if you're in the U.K. and they have that), which helped some, but made the skin in my mouth sluff off really bad, and I was already struggling with frequent canker sores so I stopped it.

Then I switched to the AIP (autoimmune protocol/paleo) diet, and my tooth sensitivity went away! I'm not saying this will fix the problem for sure, but it helped me a TON.

Looking back, I think the flare in my teeth being so sensitive was my B12 dipping to a more dangerous level. I would fully believe your nerves may be trying to figure themselves out and get regulated, and that the tooth pain could be part of that. With that being said I agree with all the other members telling you to work with your dentist and save your tooth!!!

If the pain is too much, listen to your body. Above all!!! I wish you the very best, I'm so sorry you're going through this.

**I remembered after posting this that I did have some flair in tooth sensitivity since starting my injections. Not constant, but I've had a couple flairs, don't know it that helps.**

My teeth were were terrible. Not sure if it was the result of B12 directly or the fact I was so anxious about going to the dentist I only went in cases of dire emergency. Since taking B12 I am not so anxious so I have had a massive amount of work done. I now have nice teeth.

I think they’re is a link I’ve had a lot of trouble the last 5 years, I’ve had 2 extractions and a root canal 3 years ago which keeps getting infected, this is the 3rd time now just finished a course of antibiotics yesterday as I’ve been suffering for over 3 weeks now with pain and swelling in my jaw but it’s still not right sadly so maybe I will have to loose yet another tooth. Hope yours gets better soon.

I've been wondering the same I had severe toothache last October but it was due to a piece of food getting stuck which I'd missed on cleaning. It settled down and my dentist took xrays which didn't show anything. The last few days that area of my mouth has been sore on and off. I'm due my injection on Wednesday after persuading my surgery to bring it forward, to 11 instead of 12 weeks due to fatigue and breathlessness.
