I have been doing my own B12 injections in my backside for 38 years now, taking prescription Vitamin D for ten to 1 years, and I now have a new development. The first part of 2021 I became really sick. In March I was diagnosed with Macrocytosis. After a series of blood tests and a bone marrow biopsy, it was determined the macrocytosis was due to a folate/folic acid deficiency and was started on a prescription Folic Acid. After more bloodwork on Monday, although the macrocytosis is improving, it's still there and I'm still not feeling well. My symptoms include, severe nausea and fatigue, shortness of breath, and short term memory issues which are all interfering with my quality of life. I'm seeking someone else with long term pernicious anemia that may be experiencing the same issues.

If you have PA and regularly injecy b12 it's not uncommon to get other deficiencies.I'm suprised your folate not checked more often .

My daughter had macrocystois.

The causes for her was undiagnosed b12 and folate deficiency. Alsoi found vit d deficiency

She had b12 injections followed by high doses folic acid for a short period.

Then takes a 400mcg maintenence dose daily of folic acid.

It took well over a yesr to get er levels steady her ferritin was very low too.

She is regularly tested for thyroid .

Glad the cause found. No nasties going on.

Hopefully it's a matter of time until you get to ferl less fatigued and all that goes with that.

My daughter had awful digestive issues and reflux.

Hope fully you have had a full blood count now so can rectify and get everything balanced again.

Eat potassium rich foods too.

Hope you improve soon.

P.s The buttocks are not used by nurses for IM b12 as there is a risk of hitting the sciatica nerve
