I'm particularly interested in how B12 deficiency can affect mood and behaviour.

Article about low iron and B12 being linked to aggression in boys

futurity.org/iron-deficienc...

Have previously posted this article about older woman with behavioural disturbances

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Aggression is mentioned in article below

Thanks for posting that report . I was interested to read that the Schilling test was used to help diagnose the patient . I thought that it was not used anymore due to difficulties in obtaining the radio-active element involved , also the expense of it and the fact that we now have more modern methods ( which we know are not at all satisfactory ) But it seems that the Schilling test is still used in Turkey ! Amazing ! Good for them !

The Turkish case was presented, in Turkey, in 2009.

The case itself might have been somewhat earlier than that.

I did a quick search but couldn't see any recent reports of the Schilling test - in Turkey.

(In the UK, BSE caused problems as they used a bovine extract in producing the test and that was regarded as a risk factor.)

I see ! Thanks for the explanation . The more I learn about B12 deficiency/Pernicious Anaemia , the more i realise what a complicated subject it is . If “Big Pharma” could see a possible financial gain in researching it , I think we would stand a chance of getting the better of it . But that’s not likely .But thanks for letting me know helvella .

That's very interesting.Ar least picked up and diagnosed.

I often wo der how much wad attributed to my daughter .

All sorts if things.

Migraines shoulder discolored.

Odd mouth ulcers.

Clumsy . Mood csngrs .All put down ovef the yesrs to hormonal changes teenager ect.

I knew there was more to it.

Not my first daughter.

Worked with children ect.

I kept taking her to a a abd e fir various limbs to ve xrayed.

Saw a specialist tgst monitored her??

I did think sone was growth as reached 5ft 11" and grew I spurs lije a boy rather tgsn gradual growth.

Of courses hind sight alot makes sense.

I was probably on the low side of b12 .

Never tested .

Despite no pain relief to deplete b12 in labour its known your b12ummets after giving birth

There were no rental vits suggested or post natal vitamins

She woukd be a classic cases study if anyone woujd bother

I think only published if diagnosed

My daughter woyjd be a classic learning study at si many things missed .

She's offered on research programmes but not accepted??

She's excellent with language .

When it's less painful I'm encouraging her yo write a book.

More than able

Or even a nicrl.

She can't wotk as a secondary school English teacher due to health.

Or claim PIP.

B12 damage not recognised anywhere

Shoujd really ve part of screening from babies.

Yes low iron csn cause havoc with aggression in girls abd boys

I worked in school health for yrsrs
