C Diff and B12 Deficiency?

Anybody have experience with C Diff and possible B12 deficiency? I had 2 rounds of C Diff (the first in January 2021). B12 symptoms were not present beforehand. C Diff has likely colonized in my gut now. Wondering if there could be a connection.

Nackapan, I think Pain12345 is referring to clostridium difficile (bacterial) infectionsmedlineplus.gov/cdiffinfect...

Infections seem to be related to use of anti-biotics and the effect that has on the gut in general. I am not aware of anything that specifically links them to B12 absorption problems.

As the symptoms of B12 deficiency overlap with a number of other conditions i would suggest that Pain12345 talks through with GP - some people do take a while to recover from bacterial infections and the symptoms might just be related to that - but it does depend on exactly what the symptoms are.

Yes, that is what I was referring to. Thank you, Gambit62 .

I may have stumbled upon a U.S. based doctor in Baltimore who has knowledge of B12 deficiencies. Interestingly, her medical training was in the U.K. I will try to make an appointment tomorrow.

Nackapan - there was no need to delete the reply, just responded to make you aware - it is difficult when people use abbreviations and very easy to misread them
