Vitamin C and B12

Despite weekly injections of b12 my blood results show that I am only mid range and I am still symptomatic. I take codeine for arthritic pain and with this I take about 4000 mg of vitamin C to alleviate constipation. Is the vit C helping rid my body of B12 and if so can I just increase my injections to compensate .

good question! Apparently it does unless you space them out.

also if you were low on b12 your had liver and kidney function tests were good, then b12 is not toxic at any level. Increase the frequency of your injections. Just know symptoms can get worse before getting better because your cells are being rebuilt. That will subside after a few weeks then you will start gradually feel on the up hill side of things.

As far as I know vitamin C only prevents absorption in the stomach. It won't make any difference if you inject B12. My advice, and that of most sufferers, is to increase injection frequency - I find twice a week works for me - and to remember that no matter how often you inject, your symptoms can take up to 2 years to be mostly eliminated.
