Antibiotics

I have been provisionally diagnosed with Small intestinal bowel overgrowth after a right hemicolectomy for bowel cancer. I am being told by the consultant that this could be the cause of my low B12. As I have posted before I have had my loading doses of the B12 injections but I am also intolerant of oral antibiotics. They appear to have 3 favourite ones which I did try but could not tolerate. Does anyone know if there is any other way to have antibiotics for this like an injection or patch.

I imagine there is. Antibiotics are given by drips and injections at times. Ask about your options .

Perhaps a pharmacist might have some suggestions if your doctor isn't coming up with anything

I'm sorry you are having such a bad time. Have you red the British Society of Gastroenterologists guidance on treatment of SIBO?

I have sibo too. I say have because the antibiotics didn't do anything to help. I found that a no sugar, low carb ,gf diet is what helps get rid of it or at least keeps my guts calm. There is a low fodmaps diet on Google play to help you. Best of wishes to you.

Do you have good VitD levels ? Low levels can be one link to many conditions including cancers. Around 100 if nmol/L or 60 if ng/L. Am wondering if it would help
