advice needed

I am not sure if I have PA - symptoms over the last six months include fast heart rate, fatigue, tremors in arms and legs. I put my symptoms down to stress initially as I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer last year and had a hysterectomy in September. Thankfully now given the all clear.

my GP ran blood tests including for B12 as my mother has PA but I was told all my results are normal. My GPs surgery has been less than helpful. If it weren't for Covid I would go to A&E when my heart rate is fast. Its not related to exercise as I have woken up with this symptom.

I already have ME which I've had for over 30 years so my baseline for fatigue is not the same as others.

I have started on B12 spray from Holland and Barrett but from other posts here I am not sure if this can help.

I would be graateful for any advice - should I continue with the sprary B12?

What were the actual results for your B12 test (number, units, range - e.g., 162 pmol/L 115-150 pmol/L)?

There's a big grey area between 'definitely deficient' and 'almost certainly not deficient'. But doctors see it all in black and white. One person with a value of 119 is deficient , the next at 121 is fine.

The symptoms are not classic for a B12 deficiency. But they can be highly variable.

I would use up the rest of the spray and see if it does anything at all.

thank you - I didn't get to speak to GP as the receptionist gave me my 'normal results' As I said they have been absolutely useless. They diagnosed my endometrial cancer as an urine infection!I will keep on with the spray - has anyone else seen inprovements with the B12 spray?

By law you should be able to access your records online. Check your doctor's website to find out how to activate that.

There could be many other reasons for your symptoms; for example, when I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid two of my main symptoms were fast heart rate and fatigue. No tremors in my arms and legs but I did have them in my hands.

Has your thyroid been checked?

So difficult to know what to do. Some things work for some folk and not for others. If you have Pernicious Anaemia then injections are needed. Good luck

Did you ever have your thyroid correctly tested as suggested by JanD above ? Always a good thing to rule it out - especially as you suffer with ME and now bladder pain. 🌻
