I read this article which discusses research on B12 pathway genes and their influence on circulating levels of B12. Most of the article was way over my head, but the parts that I did understand were very interesting. Maybe in the future gene therapy will cure some types of B12 deficiency. Yes, if they could figure out what gene(s) were responsible then it will be possible to edit that gene using CRISPR.
