New and wanting to know this is "Normal". Your experience?

Hey everyone! I'm new to the platform. Little back story. In 2013 I got the gastric sleeve. Since then I have had chronic anemia. My iron has consistently always been low. At my own fault I hardly ever took supplements because of constipation issues. My life has been spent since surgery, always dizzy, fatigue, heart palpitations. On bad days restless legs. (This was typically when I would find myself supplementing and feeling better) Well, in October I got blood work done and found I was still anemic but also my b12 was at a deficit of 182. At that time I didn't have any serious symptoms other then new headaches and taking a lot of naps.... but it wasn't until a few weeks after I already started supplementing with my iron tablets and my b12 (5000mcg) and drinking of 68oz of water a day to cure the constipation, that I began experiencing neuropathy issues. Mainly right side. Sometimes it feels restless, sometime my toes or finger feel weird or numb sensations. I get pins and needle feelings in random areas of my body. Some days I feel like symptoms have subsided and then later in the evening something pops up or I wake up in the middle of the night with my leg or arm feeling tingly. I have also had a symptom where it feels like my eyes cannot concentrate or when I look around at farther distances things appear blurry. I never had eye issues before. I think at this point my mental health is affected. Thinking the worse. My paranoia resides in the fact that my serious symptoms started after I supplemented for a couple weeks. I've heard that "It gets worse before it gets better". 3 days ago I retested my b12 and it is now over 2000.

I would like to hear your experiences .... did you feel worse before getting better? What symptoms did you show?

So your surgery had probably caused the absorbtion issues. Are you on b12 injections?

Havd toh addressed other deficiencies

Folate

Iron.

Vitamin d

You probably will need a full nutritional status done.

Some react badly to methylcobalamin if that's what you are taking??

Hey thanks for the reply! I am low on iron as well. I’m taking a chewable cyanocobalamin. 5000mcg. My last results showed me being over 2000 now. So I’m not deficient. But I am aware I’ll need to continue taking the supplements due to my surgery. It’s caused a lot of health issues to be honest. Including GERD.
