Finally think its sorted for my mum .
Wasnt done today as district nurses wanted to check prescription there.
They 'accepted referral ' put in for a third time. B12 injection was withdrawn after last one in August as district nurse said not going anymore? when I took it up with the surgery they said shes to have tablets and a b12 serum test . If okay only tablets!! )
Booked in for next week at home.
Only one irritating fact was a box of 5 b12 ampoules issued has an expiry of this month. So only one out of 5 will be used and it wont be there for next one due! I've informed the pharmacy who issued it .
So 🤞it will be done ad promised next week. No reason given why a change of decision. I didnt question it just thanked them .
Shocking to take so much perseverance to get a simple treatment for a 91 year old this month.
If she was alone she would not have got it and wouldve deteriorated. Thats the sad fact for many . 😔
Why is this happening????
P.s NHS England even though asking to be informed of anyone being denied b12 treatment were of little help. They said to *deal with the surgery! Then closed the case a day after opening it as they realised it was the local commissioning body that deals with district nurses. I did point out that it would be back with the Gp if request rejected again by DN who they do deal with. Hey ho .
I didnt make a complaint at this stage I was giving them information they asked for via the useful link sleepybunny posted. I also wanted advice on how to help my mum. *I had been dealing with her surgery obviously as I have done since 2004. (Since my mum became a widow.) The only problem I've had in all that time is around B12.
Anything elses has been sorted promptly
