I have terrible issues with sleep my patterns not been good for years like a lot of people here the slightest thing wakens me,it’s always been go to bed read a while then usually sleep by 11.30pm then it starts ,awake at 2 back to sleep awake at 4.30 back to sleep awake at 6 sometimes I can get back to sleep but not always,by lunchtime I’m knackered but I never nap during the day just feel drained.I had sst tested as my cortisol levels were on the floor sst came back normal.
Then I found this duvet ,it’s one side 10.5 tog and the other side 13.5 tog, hubby hates the heat and I hate the cold ,in the winter months it’s awful my sleep is even worse.Last night I went to bed at ten fell asleep quite quickly till 12.30 then fell asleep right through till 7am this morning can’t believe it,I’ve not did that for donkeys years.Anyway for anyone suffering sleep deprivation I bought this Dual tog duvet from qvc under £40 and well worth it we need all the rest we can get with this deficiency.Xx
I have a fluffy underbkanket my side for extra warmth. Socks if necessary to stop cramps lol
I'm in bed by 7. Used to be an 'owl'
Have to go when lights go on . I wake loads of times too. 9-1030 then get back to sleep can ache so restless. 3am awake for a bit and walk about. Limbs.
Then asleep again. Awake for day by 6.
Waiting for it to get light! Always feel hungover with tinnitus . Have not got that 'seize the day ' feeling back yet.
However I had to be at the surgery by 0830 yesterday . Suffered for that ! Like you only sleep in the day now if ill.
Do have to 'zone out ' on the bed as cant talk or move much if head starts. A d so it goes on.
Snuggly duvet always good.
Bring back wincyette nighties. Brought up with no heating apart from one coal fire. Would struggle with that even more now even though milder.
Also daily head pain. I loses balance if am around artificial lights then headaches.
So although if well I totally agree with your advice as before this deficiency I was an owl and needed 7-8hrs sleep after being very busy and active all day.
I dont go to sleep at 7pm as typing now . I however have to be on the bed to keep still.
I dont think you realise how poorly I still am to give that advice ??
I have never been able to tolerate sleeping in the same room as someone else, every sound they make wakes me! (I don't seem to have an issue with my dog though which is strange!)
I agree, the duvet is so important for a good sleep, my temperature regulation is rubbish so getting the duvet just right seems to be the key to a good nights sleep for me too!
Hopefully lots of lovely long sleeps ahead for you Thrones! X
I get my best sleep usually when oh gets up at 4.30 am to go to work and as you say I hear every sound he makes and I’m so irritated by it.Ive just woken again at 7.15am but don’t feel as if I had a restful sleep my bones are aching esp down left leg.
yesterday I decided to try an afternoon nap as I’m not able to do that usually and again I slept for about 30 mins but downside to that is it was well after 12 before I could settle last night.I have to admit though I’m a worrier and when I know I have more testing coming up I’m really restless so there’s not a duvet in the world that could cope with that lol.
It has definately been a great buy for the money even hubbys impressed and happy that he’s not baking under a huge duvet lol.hes actually slept till after 7 this weekend too.ty xx
Tried that MoKayD but I miss him too much I love my cuddles and I’d miss giggling at all hours when he jumps up screaming with cramp in his calf and ribs because he doesent listen and drinks coke 😂😂
That's so sweet. We both enjoy solitary sleeping because we both snore and each thinks the other is the loudest. We still have our cuddle time and then one of us retreats to their respective room. 😴
I quite get that because sometimes I could strangle him if he’s snoring loud then he gets the jumpy legs and if I’m feeling fragile it’s like every jump hurts me but then I know I probably have a lot of annoying habits too ( noisy ones with my bad gut lol)and honestly after 45 years married he’s still so cuddly,he said god blessed him with a dodgy sinus for a good reason.😂😂
I am the same, I have tried going to bed at a “normal” time and I don’t sleep at all.
I’m awake 24 hours most days with a big crash in the middle of the week. I know this isn’t good for me or my body and have had several lectures about going to bed at a decent time which I have tried not looking at my phone or watching tv not drinking caffeine blar snore lol but it doesn’t work.
When I have slept it’s mainly in the day time and found I do sleep better but then I’m back to all night not sleeping again.
I’ll get 1 to 4 hours max when I sleep. Your not alone. I’ll also sleep all through the day when I’m due my b12 injection and a doctor suggested having it earlier but then the head gp said no so I’m starting to take things more into my own hands by injecting more regularly myself to see if it works that’s my only solution at the moment.
I had a back injury over 30 years ago and lost the feelings down left leg and the consultant came to the house to see me and asked why I was on Valium,I said gp gave me them because I couldn’t sleep at night as I was sleeping so much during the day.He said to me who said you have to sleep at night? Get a good book or watch a video and chuck them in the bin before you become reliant on them. The important thing is you get quality sleep to help your body rest and heal and I immediately stopped worrying about my sleep pattern because that made sense to me.
I’m glad your managing well on s.i and I used to take mines after my shower and breakfast but then got it into my head if I ever had a bad reaction no one was here to help me ( nuts I know) so I changed to doing it at night after my dinner when hubby was home and I could relax and ive found this has also helped with my sleep I seem to get a deeper sleep that night so maybe worth a try for you? Xx
Never thought of it that way, going with what your body needs instead of going by a set routine or time. Though I have a small problem of finding things to watch lol I have watched everything 😂
Sleep pattern not normal for years coinciding with onset of PA, seems I'm not alone, does anyone have any idea why, as so many seem affected seems there must be some common factor relating to the affect of PA on systems in our bodies related to sleep.
