Can’t educate pork

The fight continues. So I’ve been to see the nurse at our surgery this morning for my b12 injection which she refused as my HGB is at a good level now!!! It should be it’s taken me 3 years to get it up! And apparently my TSH which measure my kidney function is fine! 😡 how can you begin to educate stupid. So I demand to speak to a dr who happens to be the clinical director and he agrees with her my HGB is fine so I no longer need b12 injections. I’m ready to stick my head in the oven. Seriously lost all will to fight.

WHAT!

That's a new level of stupidity. Do they really think that low B12 means low haemaglobin?

How did they get through the first time? And how do they get through revalidation?

I guess TSH has three letters, just like GFR.

Wow! Our life in their hands 🤒 can't you self inject. Saves dealing with stupid people

I’ll order some now, shouldn’t have to but I suppose it’s the way forward to keep well. The next step for me if my levels drop so low again would be SACD. They don’t give a damn if that happens. Has anyone else gone to their MP???

I know someone on fb complained to their MP and had injections reinstated it was a long letter with a lot of detail in it. Go on the group and ask

I’ve requested my medical records. I’m going to get my ducks in a row and go to my MP. I’ve had enough of this. Meanwhile I have to go without my b12!!!

Buy some? Or get it done privately. If needs must

Yes do. I know doctors don't get much training on the subject but that takes the biscuit. You probably need to write to the practice manager first. Good luck

Very true, doctors get about 12 minutes training on b12 my daughter who is an ED nurse had a complete 3 hour lecture on everything b12 related. Ridiculous as nurses can’t order tests!

I really can't understand the wish to terminate a successful long-term treatment, with no alternative, no monitoring and no reflection or consideration: ie what caused the deficiency in the first place and the likelihood of a return.... ??*!?

I have been told by haematology consultants that B12 is toxic, carcinogenic and highly addictive: either they think we are thick - or else they are.

I think the telling point was the change of subject when I asked for the relevant research

- or perhaps the lack of a single mention of this "information" in feedback to my GP

- or even the fact that they didn't tell my GP to stop administering these "toxic" B12 injections at all, but to halve the frequency.

At this point, I started self injecting.
