B12 Injections

Hello, I am in the US and I am thinking about ordering B12 from Oxford Biosciences. I am a bit nervous. I have never self injected and I am also nervous about ordering an injectable from overseas. Does anyone have experience with Oxford Biosciences? Does anyone use ampoules?

It’s strongly advisable to only use single use ampoules of B12 for injection. Storing larger quantities presents possibilities for contamination , especially in a domestic situation , where it will not be very quickly used up . Here in the U.K. , we really only use single use ampoules of Hydroxocobalamin which we can obtain from certain German online pharmacies ( they are an over the counter item in Germany — prescription only in UK , same as in USA . )

I have a help sheet which I will send you . It is mostly information for UK , but there is a section for USA . Best wishes .

Thank you so much for that very thoughtful response.I don't have a diagnosis and I have parietal cell antibodies. I have digestion issues like bloating, heartburn, fatigue, neuropathy and recently dizziness. The doctors are useless. I will look at all of the sites you posted. I would like to try self injection for at least a month straight. The ampoules seem to be more expensive than the powder? I'm not interested in the cynocobalamin. I'm interested in the methylcobalamin. I have never tried hydroxocobalamin. I've tried methylcobalamin every two days, a total of 7 shots. It helped with my neuropathy but not stomach. I'm hoping continuous dosing will help to resolve my stomach problems and my other symptoms. :/

There should be no reason why methylcobalamin is better than cyanocobalamin, and many reasons why it is not as good. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

It is unlikely that any form of B12 will help with your digestion issues as it is likely that they, and the B12 deficiency, have the same cause - autoimmune gastritis.

I had an endoscopy done. It came back “normal”. No gastritis. I had two antibodies found on lab test, parietal cell antibodies and mayocardial antibodies. I’ve tried really high doses of probiotics, no help.

Hi Maggiez, after searching forever I found a B12 compound similar to the injections I've been getting at clinics. My physician's office does Cyanocobalamin free but they make me sick with a raging headache. I ordered from HCG 877-228-2158. I had never done shots but watch a few Youtubes and after the first few it is totally fine. They do not offer ampules but the bottle has worked ok so far. We are miles behind in the US on B12 purchasing!

That’s brilliant! Where do you buy the saline in the vile? That’s the only part that I don’t like, sticking the needle in the open bottle. Yes, it’s very economical.

Please note that mixing sterile components in a non-sterile environment does introduce risks of contamination.

Maggiez: I am told it is unsafe and my post has been removed. I apologize. I meant no harm. Though I have had no issues, there is certainly risk of contamination during mixing. Perfect hygiene is impossible in a home setting. Improperly cleaned skin at the injection point is a big risk. Even those rubber topped injection friendly vials present risk, as they can let in bacteria when pierced.

I communicated with the company in question regarding safety, but there is no doubt that single use ampoules, with proper alcohol skin prep is the safest approach for self-injection. Anything else will present greater risk, so consult experts.

I wish you the best in your efforts.
