Finally got my GP to email me my blood test results -- been waiting for a consultation about it since February/March but I've decided that I may go to a private GP instead as I think I might have low B12 levels due to my symptoms getting worse.
Would anyone able to take a look at the results and let me know their thoughts?
Thank you

Your parietal cell antybody test is suggestive of PA or another autoimmune condition going on. They however do not use this test to diagnose PA anymore as many are positive but dont have PA
The intrinsic factor antybody test is used and picks up 50% of those with PA.
Your ferritin is just in range but some have symptoms of low ferritin if its below 50.
Are your symptoms indicative of low b12?
You could post your thyroid result on the thyroid forum.
Vitamin d would be good to test level.
I dint understand the other parts.
Others might and will post their opinion.
It seems a matter of ruling things out at the start.
Has your b12 ever been tested?? To compare. Theses tests February and suggests testing b12 ?
If you are eating a b12 rich diet including meat, fish ,diary tour levels shoukdnt drop. If they are it's an absorbtion problem.
If your diet is vegan or even vegetarian its difficult to get enough b12 so that would be dietary and tablets taken early enough shoukd help.
My sister was fine and a vegetarian for over 30 years then she stopped being able to eat enough b12 as her absorbtion naturally decreased. She is fine on daily tablets as caught in time and dietary needing a boost.
I cant see a folate reading? Normally this is done with the b12?? You need that as well.
Hope you get on okay with private Gp. Really your Gp should be doing this as pretty standard!!
These results aren't really indicative of anything much!
The Parietal Cell Antibody test is the only 'abnormal' result. It is likely to be positive in PA, but it is positive in lots of other circumstances too, so it's of little diagnostic use on its own.
Your ferritin is low-ish, but your FBC doesn't suggest iron deficiency anaemia. However, measuring serum B12 and folate [preferably red cell folate] in addition to ferritin, and potentially an iron profile, might be more help. An intrinsic factor antibody test [IFAb] would be helpful if the B12 is low, and some laboratories would do this automatically, but by no means all would do so. Discussion with your GP would/should be of benefit.
