As stomach acid low . And having absorbtion problems Finally after struggling for a month have recieved dental treatment. My first root canal work as he thought can save the tooth.

On amoxicillin to save the tooth or best outcome I was told.

Any advice on helping to restore some good bacteria this will kill off as well as bad??

Concerned .

Didnt think a choice really. Not had antibiotics for 15 years (another tooth!)

I know live yoghurt but that's about all

Any ideas appreciated

In my own experience, after several courses of antibiotics in quick succession several years ago , I started taking a good probiotic. Others will be able to give good advise.

Glad you saw the dentist at last.

Yes surreal experience

Different dentist . He didt get my light sensitivity when I produced a flannel to put over my eyes .

I could feel it slipping down . I think my dentist less vigorous with drilling .

I Instinctively raised my had to my ear to pull it back as I thought it wad going to go down my face. It was if course in a pause.

It must've scared him and I really got told off. And shown the drill and how dangerous ect ect I of course apologised profusely. Flannel removed though. Even with my eyes shut after it was all over I got up and got the usual stagger if under artificial light. Took all my strength to stay upright to leave

So grateful to be seen . Hope the tooth can be saved. But have to wait for next stage of treatment when my dentist opens.

At least one ache gone. !

Yes pribiotics I will sought

Next time you go to the dentist ask for a cushion to support your neck.

I realised that I was always getting head/neck pain after a visit. The following time I mentioned it to him …. he told me to always ask for a cushion, which, at my surgery, is like a bean bag. No problem since.

Not sure about the light sensitivity though.

Good idea. My dentist fine about my thick flannel over my eyes. Then hat and tinted glasses on to get out.

This dentist was under pressure as running 45 mins late , rotating rooms , and obviously wanted tou on and out. understandable

Just more troublesome for me dealing with it all after in the carpark. Waiting to be fit to drive fortunately only a mile home. I'm the only driver!

Well it proves still light sensitive.

Has improved. S make myself go in some lights otherwise it gets worse I've read.

It's the bright fluorescent ones though that really effect me.

I do ache all over actually apart from my tooth lol

My own dentist very accommodating. Was only there in March. So just bad luck with this tooth.

Pillows you are right make all the difference

for neck support.

I would splash out £23 on a bottle of Symprove. I've found it very efficient at replacing gut bacteria. After that you could try 60 days of Bio-Kult, which is a lot cheaper. Then the yoghurt should be OK.

Sorry to hear about your tooth Nackapan, the dentist sounds very unempathic. Not sure where you are or what your taste buds are like but kimchi which is fermented korean cabbage has a lot of good bacteria. Would be able to buy from an Asian shop. Many cultures have fermented products. Kombucha is a fermented drink or kefir. I can buy kefir in my local Tesco and it tastes like drinking yoghurt. There is also biomel which is a drink with good bacteria but only seen that in Waitrose and Sainsbury’s. Actimel and Yakult contain a lot of sugar.
