Folate and ferritin levels

Hello everyone.

Been suffering fatigue muscle twitching and shaking since January. Could I have some advice on whether these need increasing?

Ferritin

78.6 ug/L (normal range 30 - 400)

Folate serum

14.20 nmol/L (normal range 8 - 60)

Would I be symptomatic with these levels? GP says they are fine but I’m a big bloke 6’4 13 stone would I need more?

B12

875 pmol/L unsure how much of this is active b12. I have been supplementing oral.

I have some ferritin tablets and some folate 17mg slow release. Was planning on doing a private test in a month to check levels. Was aiming to get them in the upper third range then stop. How long would it take to increase? Hoping it makes a difference to symptoms. All other bloke tests I am in the middle range

Thanks

Do not take iron supplements unless advised to by a doctor. Too much can be worse than too little.

Do not take the mega-high dose folate tablets. Anything above 1000 mcg a day (fast or slow release) may be harmful.

Your ferritin, folate and B12 are all perfectly fine.

You need to see a doctor to get a referral to a specialist to diagnose your muscle twitches. You should not randomly stick chemicals into your body in the hope that one of them might do something useful.
