I was diagnosed with autoimmune chronic gastric and I’ve been suffering with a fast heart beat sometimes at night

Can anybody tell me what’s good for this I also have anemia I take iron and b12 and I take thyroid medicine someone told me that gastric cause the fast heartbeat anyone experience this

Auto-immune gastritis is what causes Pernicious Anaemia , because it destroys parietal cells in the stomach . They produce stomach acid and the intrinsic factor , which are essential for the absorbtion of vitamin B12 . One of the many symptoms , and there are a lot , is a fast heart beat . It doesn’t happen to all P.A. patients . I experienced it , amongst other symptoms. But since treatment with B 12 injections, it has gone ! An overactive thyroid can also cause it .

Yes but I thought with me taking b12 and my thyroid medicine it would go away

I took one b12 injection and my doctor put me on the vitamins so I take them everyday

I get that as well, irregularly, during the day as well as the evening. Injections have reduced it but not got rid of it completely. We're all different in our symptoms!

I got that now and then, sometimes suddenly waking me up at night. Like someone had dropped a heavy book on the floor right next to me. Heart pounding. Also heart would start thumping after eating dinner. I knew that it was a symptom for some people with B12 deficiency, so did not worry about it.

About this time last year, for no reason I can tell, it got to be an everyday occurrence (and most nights). This went on into the summer and I eventually went to the GP. I had a 24hr monitor - which showed I had "ventricular ectopics".

This apparently is harmless, starts for no known reason and can stop in the same way, and causes no damage. The only treatment that I could be offered was betablockers, which I was not keen on taking. Once I knew it was harmless, I could afford to wait and see if it would go on it's own.

Finally, a year later, it is easing off.

It is worth checking with your GP if you are concerned about it, if only to rule out any serious heart issues.

I had it check I had 24 hour mointer two days i had it on and they said nth was wrong and then I had a autrosound and a X-ray nth when I had the 24 hour thing I did not do it so nth

Yes I called my doctor and told her but she was not available so another doctor I told my blood pressure was up and was telling her about my heartbeat fast she was like I can give u beta blockers I was like no I want to wait until I can see my doctor cause u no right now we can’t see the doctor it’s just over the phone so I said I well wait.

You may also want to investigate if you may also have a hemoglobin or iron anemia as well. They can often go together. I have PA as well as a GI bleed that no one can find or fix and it causes my Hgb and iron to drop, dramatically at times and requires blood transfusion and iron infusions, as well as injections for bone marrow stimulation. Whew! But, my heart beats very hard, more noticeable after meals. It is much worse when my Hgb and/or iron is low. It may be worth investigating. Good luck.

My iron is good I take iron pills thank u
