My wife Gill successfully gave me the first "at home with doctor's permission" B12 injection since we went into self isolation.
She was shown how to do it by the practice nurse last month and did it without fainting - me that is - not Gill

Good news Clive. Success
Ellj
Lucky Clive having a gem like Gill.❤️ I am sure if Gill hadn’t wanted to do this you somehow would have found strength to do it yourself. Watch Gill do it the next few times so if it comes to it you can make the choice to do it yourself. Get used to this scenario first then ......
WELL DONE GILL lol xx
Clive,
I'm sure you won't take this the wrong way, and it certainly isn't digging at you and Gill. But how much would the NHS have saved if they had offered this from the get-go?
(Well aware that you and Gill should not be coerced into accepting this responsibility. Only if you were willing and able.)
Multiply this by the many others who would do this. Just how much does that come to?
(No, not expecting any sort of an answer.)
I totally agree - I have been having monthly injections for 48 years and from the very beginning my first wife Valerie (of twenty-seven years until her death in 1992) volunteered to do the injections which doctor after doctor refused to allow - because it was illegal.
Fortunately my company allowed me time off work at 10:30am every third or fourth Tuesday for all of the 27 years I worked for them to go to my surgery during working hours. Total injections are now well in excess of 600
My now doctor "jumped at the chance" when I asked six weeks ago at the very beginnings of the covid=19 crisis whether it might be necessary for Gill to do the injections to save me coming out of isolation due to my health issues, so when I had my injection 3 weeks ago at the surgery (under "lockdown" circumstances) the nurse showed Gill how to do it and provided four sets of needles and a sharps box - I keep my own supply of cyanocobamalin B12 as I have always done since 1972.
Gill was understandably a bit nervous but I told her to remember back to when I was giving her daily injections of Neupogen during her chemo for breast cancer that now was a chance to "get her own back"
How lovely to hear you working so well together Clive,in sickness and in health eh? Well done to both of you x
Thank you Hidden - I'm coming up to 79 and Gill 70 in December. Hopefully we will be out of "self isolation" by then

I could say "Gill's no chicken" bur she gets easily needled and then so would I
One of my Old Testament Bible readings tomorrow is Proverbs 31
I have been very blessed with two wives - Valerie for 27 years until her death in 1992 and Gill for nearly 24 years since 1996,
10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
Night night and God Bless
Glad to hear you are doing well Clivealive during this crazy time😊. Also, good job Gill!
Well done Gill and Clive. Doing your bit to help the NHS and staying safe.
What about a 2.6 Challenge: 26 new people all home-injecting at the same time on video ?
Would raise money for charity, introduce this issue and give courage to those coming after, too.
Ha Ha Cherylclaire if you knew what I look like you'd understand why I am "camera shy" and I wouldn't want to frighten the children on YouTube
Well done I’m still waiting for my supplies, but yes we’ll done hopefully I won’t faint either
Well Done. Great News. I am waiting for my injections and needles to arrive and going to have a go myself. Fingers crossed. We all need our B12. Not just for a top up, we need it for our life saving injections for pernicious anemia. So pleased for you
Excellent😃👏 well done Gill
