Hi all, I'm curious about pa . I have had aneamia my whole life due to thalleseamia trait I have hypothyroidism after removal via radio iodine. My b12 sits at 300 usually but last 4 yrs on and off horrendous vertigo chronic tinnitus and weird sounds with intermittent loss lasts a few secs and ectopic heart beats. I had a round of b12 shots. How do I know if it's b12 making me feel this bad or if I have pa
Do I have pa?: Hi all, I'm curious... - Pernicious Anaemi...
Do I have pa?
The anaemia caused by thalassaemia trait is different from that caused by a B12 deficiency.
If the B12 injections reduce the symptoms then they were probably caused by a B12 deficiency.
I’m dizzy all the time that never eases either does the tinnitus . I always feel faint etc still even after the b12. How do I know if it’s pa
First you need to determine if you have a B12 deficiency. You cannot tell this from symptoms alone as they overlap with many other conditions. The only way to tell for sure is to fix the deficiency with injections (the only way to make sure that the B12 is getting into the body) and see if symptoms improve.
If they do, then you have a deficiency. If there are no obvious causes (you're not vegetarian/vegan, you're not taking PPIs or metformin, you've not has surgery on the stomach or intestines) then you most likely have PA.
