I was recently diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia. I have been taking B12 shots over the past 50 days.
I recently went to the doctors to test my folate, potassium and just general other vitamins. I have a vitamin D deficiency and I have high b6!
I was surprised to see this! My B6 was 266 nmol/L with a reference range of 35-110. Its more than double the top reference range. And i read that b6 overdose creates neurological symptoms.
I was shocked! Why is it so high? I dont take multivitamins except that I took maybe 15 pills with 100% b6 daily value maybe 15 times over the past 6 months. Other than that - i was taking folic acid. and that is it!
Does anyone know anything about this? Of course my doctor has no idea why.

as fbirder says there are reported cases of peripheral neuropathy (which in some cases didn't reverse) caused by high dose supplementation over a period of time. There haven't been any reports of anyone suffering from eating too much B6 from food (presumably excluding fortified foods). B6 is used as an additive in a lot of products that claim to be healthy or boost energy - so suggest you take a look (eg at any drinks you are taking).
I'm not aware of conditions that would lead to B6 build up (in the absence of other vitamins and minerals building up as well) but I am not a medical practitioner.
It’s all my fault. I have been taking melatonin and I just saw that there is 10mg of b6 inside! 500% of daily requirement. No wonder. So ignore this post.
