Does anyone have pain in veins being used to draw blood? Can anything be done for that?

I am on a strong blood thinner and feel that my veins are going to split open. The blood thinner is due to arrhythmias which seem to have cleared up after being treated with B12. Is the vein pain similar to the brittle nails? I also get leg muscle cramps and have learned to drink tonic water with quinine which really helps with that.

I almost always have difficulty with blood draws, painful and they sometimes collapse. I now ask for a "baby needle" or "butterfly needle" which is very small. It takes more time for them to draw the blood but there is much less discomfort both during and after the process. Glad for the tip on the quinine water. will give it a try!
