Hi , was looking for some advice as this is all new to me . Have been feeling extremely tierd , no motivation, dizzy , migraines a whole range of thing over last cpl months eventually bloods have been taken and came back . Results where not at all bad yet don’t understand what’s causing all the symptoms. Dr said my b12 level is 223 so not worrying her but as precaution has booked me in for bloods to have this checked in more depth. Is this a normal / low/ high reading for b12 ? She mentioned word pernicious anemia this is why curious to people who do have this to see if had same symptoms et. Only other thing that was low was folate which was -2

If you post the unit of measure and the reference range from your blood test results, someone here might be better able to give you more insight. (Different labs use different units of measure and different reference ranges based on their equipment.)

Start your self a logbook and assess each symptom daily. 10% of the population can exhibit neurological and psychological symptoms with B12 results under 400 pg/ml (ng/L). You may be one of the 10%.

You need to build up evidence for your GP, who will treat you like a total hypochondriac, into giving you a go at B12 injections on a trial basis. Provide your GP with a typed list of all your symptoms at each visit especially the neurological ones.

Once you are on injections, convince your GP to monitor your symptoms with your logbook and forget further blood tests as they will read high. You want >1500 pg/ml anyway to repair nerve damage (the pernicious or deadly part of this condition).

Once on injections you will also need folic acid and daily multivitamin to support the B12.

Gastroenterologist, symptoms include stomach ulcers, reflux, B12 absorption issues.

Can be done with endoscopic biopsy or now with a breath test as well.
