I have had high B12 results for years now as I have generally supplemented.

For. While I have not and am having symptoms of low B12 and so decided to do an active B12 test through Medichecks.

Results: Acitve B12

>300 pmol/L (Range 37.5 - 188)

Could anyone shed light on this please

Yes. It means that your Active B12 levels are too high for the test to measure accurately. But they are very high.

It almost certainly means that the B12 supplements you have taken are still hanging around.

If you want to know if your symptoms are likely to be caused by a B12 deficiency the best way is to have an MMA test. Levels will be raised if you don't have enough B12 getting into your cells.

An even better way would be to start the supplements again and see if the symptoms stop. If they do - carry on with the supplements.
