Hi everyone

I have Pa with gastritis

My finger nails often have white patches and sometimes turn a blue colour

I have intramuscular B12 injection every 2 weeks at my doctors surgery

Thee nail issue does seem to appear in the second week after my injection.

Does anyone have similar symptoms / can advise

Thanks 🙏

Are you taking antacids, proton pump inhibitors or anything like that?

Are the white patches turning blue or the nail is turning blue or the finger under the nail turning blue?

Hi essence

Yes I am on proton pump inhibitors

My nails do occasionally turn blue too

The white patches are normally harmless, I have a couple. They are due to damage to the nail bed. Very occasionally they could be due to a calcium deficiency but unlikely in most cases. The blue nails are typically due to a lack of oxygen in your blood. I have this too and I’d imagine it might be more prevalent in people with PA.
