Hi everyone. So i had my endoscopy and colonoscopy done last month and the result was positive with HPYLORI. My doctor put me on a two weeks course

of antibiotics. I finished my course but i still feel burning sensation in my stomach, feeling bloated, hair loss and face itch.

Anyone has any suggestions of what to take to treat the HPylori?

Thank you

Hi SufferOne I think you need to go back to your doctor as soon as you can and asked to be re-tested just in case the antibiotic hasn't done the job.

Are you supplementing with B12 and folic acid?

I am not medically trained.

Hi,

Link about H Pylori which may be of interest.

patient.info/digestive-heal...

It mentions that occasionally eradication treatment fails and different antibiotics may be needed.

I am not medically trained. I think you should go back to your GP and ask their advice.

If you're in UK, next link may be useful

I read a very interesting article online about the benefits of high dose vitamin C in curing H Pylori in tests. Also, they mentioned that vit D was also very helpful. If you type in high dose vit c and h pylori you should be able to find it. I have been taking high dose vit c for a couple of years and my stomach seems a lot better. I take about 5OOO mcg a day. I know we are all completely different and I am not medically trained, but see if you can find the article and see what you think. Wishing you the best possible health.

To add to your comments I'm not sure if the person who started the thread is male but watch out for g6pd deficiency with high dose vitamin c.

i had h pylori and had to do 2 different rounds of antibiotics as the first round didn't work.

if you have to do a 2nd round, one of the antibiotics will be different.

Stool and breath tests should not be redone until 8 weeks after finishing antibiotics as they can beat h pylori back but not completely kill it and it can take a while for the remaining h pylori to regrow enough to be detected on the test.

you also cannot test until a min of 30 days off ppi.

everything i read about h pylori teatment said your stomach should be healed and absorbing b12 again after 2 months but thats not correct as it took 7- 8 months before my b12 numbers started increasing without injections.

i know this because after i got negative h pylori result i stopped getting my weekly injection and within 3 weeks was a mess. so i was tested and b12 was still low for having weekly injections, 600 to 800 range. i tried to stop injections at 5 months, again i fell apart. didnt bother to test, just started injections again every 7 to 10 days. i only did this appox 4 or 5 times. Then i went to doctor for a rash 8 months after h pylori negative and they tested b12 and it was highest it had ever been, in 1300s, and i had not had an injection for over a month so i was thrilled.

i have only had 1 injection since, as a preventative measure, as i was going on a trip last November. it has been almost 6 months without an injection and im fine.

it may just take awhile for your ulcer to heal. after that, lets hope your gut starts absorbing b12 all on its own.

best of luck.
