Hiya ive had low iron levels for almost a year taking medicine daily ,i dont feel as this is helping at all i recently visited my gp and told him so and can i be tested for b12 deficiency as it runs in the family, my result s have come back that my folate levels are low , is this the same as b12 ?

no, b12 test is separate from folate test. Folate is vitamin b9 and both are used in the production of red blood cells and several other bodily functions. Low folate usually comes with low b12 and they indicate anemia. If your b12 levels were not tested then I would suggest to have them tested as well.
Low folate is often caused by a diet lacking in veggies. Try a 400 mcg folic acid tablet from the supermarket. One per day.
