I ordered more B12 from Germany yesterday and had to order 2mg instead of 1mg as that’s all they had. Can anyone tell me please if that might cause me problems? Should I use less frequently? Or half an ampule? Would it keep, opened? I only orded 10 so as not to waste too much money if they didn’t suit.

And does everyone else pay €9 on their delivery? Seems a lot for a product costing €12.

Hi.

I know from reading other posts that you are not supposed to keep once opened after having the 1 mil, I'm sure others with more knowledge than me will be along soon to confirm.

I ordered mine from bodfied apothke & they were great. I ordered 100 ampoules & it was €9 delivery, it's the same cost even if I ordered just 10.

I would inject the whole lot.

The postage from most German pharmacies is the same no matter how large the package. One reason why a lot of people order 100 at a time.

using 2mg won't do any harm (assuming that it is double concentration) - you may be able to cut the frequency a little but you probably won't be able to halve it - just because B12 is removed faster if the level in your blood is higher.

if it isn't double concentration then you may need bigger needles to use the whole amount - so you may just want to use half of the ampoule and then discard the rest.

It seems to be the same quantity - i.e. anout half a syringe- so I guess it’s concentrated.

I’ve just looked on Versandapo.de , and I could not find any 2mg B12 ampoules . I did find the HEVERT brand of B12 Depot ampoules which contain 1mg of B12 in 2ml of saline . If this is the one you received , then you should inject the whole amount anyhow . 1mg being the usual dose .

Wedgewood what is the difference between the “HEVERT,” and the other Hydroxocabalamin that is on their site? I still don’t get the whole ampule thing since we don’t have them in the US. I don’t want to have to mix anything, as I have seen some of this stuff comes in power form if I am not mistaken?

Ampoules are the safest way to inject , because they eliminate any danger of contamination . Using a vial with several doses of any injectable has its dangers , especially in a domestic situation . Once opened, the contents can be become contaminated . In a hospital or doctor’s surgery , the vial contents will be kept in an optimal sterile situation . Also the contents will be used more quickly .

There is no difference in the Hevert Hydroxocobalamin from any other brand, just the fact that it is in a larger quantity of saline solution . I have used both myself , but now prefer to inject 1mg x 1 ml ( it’s less liquid to inject ) but both ampoules contain the same amount of Hydroxocobalamin, namely 1 mg .

It is honestly preferable to inject using an ampoule, especially in a domestic situation . I would never risk dealing with a vial containing several doses .

Yes, it’s possible in the U.K. to obtain Methylcobalamin in powder form , which then has to be mixed with saline and kept in a vial . I would never use this - again the danger of contamination .

Hope that this puts your mind at rest regarding ampoules - which is the safest method of administering anything injectable .

Best wishes to you Nanc72.

It does, thank you. I use to work as a nursing assistant and gave b-12 injections so I am use to the larger bottle. I always clean the stopper before and after with alcohol. The ampules seem like a better way of storage however. Looking more and more like I am going to have to purchase them. Again, all of you are such a great source of information. Thank you!😊

I bought 100 ampoules about 3 weeks ago from Versand Bodfeld Apoteke in Germany and these were the Rotomedixa Depot 1mg/1ml variety. Altogether that cost just under £68 including the delivery charge using DHL Courier service. This is the quantity of injection fluid that comes in the one supplied against a UK GP prescription. I have used these for the past 2 years now, and with this additional supply will be doing so for another 2 years.

They do have an English version of their website accessed via the tiny Union Jack at the top of the screen. Their acknowledgement and despatch note and delivery details were in German and although my German is good enough for in depth family chats the parts I wanted to be absolutely certain on copied and pasted into Google Translate to confirm what my aged brain thought it said.

The whole process was efficient and effective and the pack arrived at my home about a week later.

It is DHL who make the 9 Euros courier charge.

(Versandapo is Versand + apoteka. These just have Bodfeld in the middle.)

Exactly my experience also & despite initial brain fog kicking in, was overall a very simple experience thanks also to Google translate app.

I wanted to make sure I had plenty in stock as who knows what's going to happen in the UK in the next month or so!

Exactly my thinking Ritchie. I still had about 20 left from my last batch but who knows what is going to happen: WTO rules are very restrictive, I doubt anyone who thinks they are the answer has ever read them, and we are only able to get our 'fix' from Germany as they are readily available 'over the counter' there so there is no customs involvement in buying from another EU country. I can just see the Bandits and Robbers of HMRC having fun in confiscating our drugs as we haven't a GP prescription for them.

We have a very close relationship with a German family so it works out that our son and one of theirs are and have been for 35 years just like brothers so I should be able to get them to bring them back on there mutual home visits every couple of years, always assuming they can smuggle them through. A ridiculous situation I think.

It does sound like a ridiculous situation, but one that could easily become a reality & is really worrying!

The most worrying thing of all though, is even all the clowns who pretend to run this once great country don't even know what they're doing & how it will turn out!

If its 2ml Hydroxocobalamin then it’s like having 2 injections. Unless it’s 1ml Hydroxocobalamin in a 2ml solution.

If you feel ok after injecting 2ml then it’s ok but if you feel heightened anxiety, fast pulse, chest tightness or other symptoms then inject only half.

It’s not dangerous but you can have some side effects which you will feel if you get them, otherwise I would say it’s totally safe so no need to worry.

It’s not the ML that denotes the strength of the ampoule , but the MG!!!So injecting 2ml is not like having 2 injections unless it’s a 2mg x 2ml ampoule which I have never seen .i

The only B12 Hydroxocobalamin ampoules that I have seen for sale on the German online pharmacies (,which is where most folk who S.I. on this forum purchase) - are the Rotexmedica B12 Depot ampoules 1mg x 1ml and the Hevert ampoules 1mg x 2ml both of these give the usual dose of 1mg of Hydroxocobalamin of 1mg . If a larger dose is required — I think Gambit does— then Pascoe makes ampoules containing 1.5 mg of Hydroxocobalamin in 1ml of saline . But that is the highest dose that I have found on the German online pharmacies .

Thanks for correcting me. I didn’t know that.

What is the point of having 1mg in a 2ml ampule when you get 1mg in a 1ml ampule.

Is there any purpose for this ?
