Hi, I have just been diagnose with B12 deficiency and will start b12 injections next week for the rest of my life, along with my symptoms of being tired, aching joints/muscles etc I have noticed my skin has gotten really bad over the past few months I.e. spots, extremely tired looking and also seems I have lost fat in my face even though I haven’t lost weight in general. I’m just wondering if anyone with lack of b12 also had problems with skin/muscles and if this improved after b12 injections? I’m not sure of the reason for my B12 deficiency as my doctor said the rest of my bloods where fine apart from an increased ESR which he stated he wasn’t concerned about. Thankyou in advance

I also don't know why I'm b12 deficient either like your I'm not anaemic. I eat meat and a generally good diet. I'm glad you are getting the treatment you need . I was also told injections for the rest of my life. My skin used to be really clear but I also got pale and dry patches and a thin looking face . It might just be bring b12 defient you are simply run down and your body not working well. The more tired you get the less usually you do even when you don't know what's wrong. our muscles do ache more as you not got the right energy. It takes time to feel better. Some people have a quick response to treatment . Try and rest for it to do its job. I put a post earlier about taking an ice block to the surgery . It does work. I hope it goes well and you have more energy soon.
