I read a medical journal over dental surgery due to me having the whole top teeth took and found cysts during time i was given the anathstetic wer ur not completly out and did wonder if this was my reason for absorbtion and it stated nearly 70-80% of b12 is lost in any procedure using this type of medication and patients have this checked prior to a procedure and topped up to compensate the loss of b12 being took as anyone else heard this

hI Leigh6873 nitrous oxide (if that is what was given you) is a super-oxidiser when it comes to B12 and converts it to a form that the body cannot use, so if you had an absorption problem and couldn't replace your the oxidised B12 with new B12 then it would be a permanent problem.

Nitrous oxide isn't a local anaesthetic so I would suggest that you contact the dental surgery where the procedure was done and ask them to clarify and then have a word with your doctor quoting the reference below with regard to Vitamin B12 Deficiency.
