Just had my first b12 injection. Feel fine. He said it will sting, but after what I've been through this year, believe me it was nothing! Hoping for good results now.

Spoke to soon. Feel very nauseated and not too good. Hope this passes quickly.

Ooops Gardeningbuff Take it easy. It's not uncommon for some symptoms to appear to get worse before they get better as the B12 starts repairing the damage done by the deficiency.

I hope things settle down for you soon too.

I'm not medically trained but I've had over 600 Vitamin B12 injections and I'm still "clivealive" aged 77 - they must be working.... :)

if your body dose not absorb B12 can you take something to let it absorb ?

Hi ellegreg are you talking about non absorption of B12 from your diet, or medication, infections, or other causes?

The purpose of injections (or sublinguals, sprays, patches etc) is to "flood" your body with B12 thus bypassing the reasons why you cannot absorb it naturally via the digestive system.

Hope this helps but I'm not medically trained.

The nausea has passed but the heart palpitations are still annoying, i presume thats from the injections ( hope so lol) i have had them before with the anaemia so I'm presuming the b12 has temporarily made them worse. I didnt have them this morning brmefore the injection.

These are known "after effects" so try not to worry about them - but of course should they continue for a long time going back to your doctor is a sensible idea as I'm not medically trained.

Thank you Clive. What would we do without you? Lol. I've had ecg's before my surgeries and they were always fine. I have read about the after effects so hopefully it will all settle down.
