B12 from Versandapo

I've just bought B12 Depot Rotexmedica 100x1ml for ~£55.

The code was N3K4-SXKC-5CC9. Whether this code was specific to me, and whether it would work for anyone else I don't know; I have ordered from them twice before.

I don’t know what number that is for , but it is not the Pharmaceutische Zentral Nummer (PZN ) which if used in the search box, will take you straight to the item you want, on any online German pharmacy site.

For 100 ampoules of Rotexmedica depot Hydroxocobalamin you need to search for 03862305.. For 10 ampolules 03862297

Today 100 cost €48.19 (30% discount) and 10 cost €8.49 (16% discount ) plus €9.00 courier , no matter how many you buy.

I’ve recently received 100, and the use -by date was for 2 1/2 years hence .

I've been on B12 for 13 years and recently more than ever, don't feel the injection every 12 weeks is enough. Weeks before I'm due again, I feel pretty dreadful, so have considered purchasing from abroad for some time.

Please could you advise where you purchase the syringes and needles from also? I'll need a sharps bin too.

Out of curiosity, what colour needle is best for intra-muscular into the arm? Last time I went, they used orange and it hurt like hell. I'm sure they're normally green?

Hi VB_Aylesbury

See wedgewood 's post above for the info re hydroxocobalamin ampoules

For syringes and needles, go here - medisave.co.uk/consumables-... or (if you understand German) mycare.de/en. I use medisave co uk as already linked.

In general, the advice is to buy a larger bore needle, ie green, to draw up the injection, as prone to blunt the needle, then a smaller bore needle for the injection itself. For IM injection, most would use Blue needle, at least 1.25" in length. Hospitals would usually use 1.5" for IM injections into thigh, for instance. Blue is OK for IM and often used for IM into upper arm. Orange, finer bore, likely to be used for sub-cutaneous injection, ie insulin

I use Orange, 25g, 5/8" for SubCut into abdomen for B12 and give slowly. Yes, it can sting, especially if not warmed to body temperature (a fe mins under arm pit should be sufficient).

Syringes - get 2ml - these are the cheapest medisave.co.uk/bd-discardit...

Needles - Green - medisave.co.uk/terumo-agani...

Blue - medisave.co.uk/terumo-agani...

Orange - medisave.co.uk/terumo-agani...

I believe some use the Grey / 27G needles which are very small bore.

I suggest the smaller the bore, the slower you need to give the injection otherwise it can be more uncomfortable.

There is a delivery charge on top of the cost of the items, of course. Best wishes ;)
