Hi DemiDaniels123 was your Vitamin B12 level tested when your recent test was done?

Having been vegetarian in the past may have caused you to be low on B12 and in addition to your having recently started to eat meat you may benefit from supplementing with a sublingual cyanocobamalin or a methylcobamalin Boost Spray.

I am not a medically trained person but I've had Pernicious Anaemia (a form of B12 deficiency) for more than 46 years.

I wish you well.

You could ask your doctor to give you a short treatment with B12 injections or buy the supplements over the counter.

You cannot overdose on B12 as any excess is excreted via your urine so give them a go - it will do you no harm.

Presumably you eat plenty of leafy green vegetables - the Folate in them will help to process the extra B12.

Start worrying less and look forward to you holiday.

DemiDaniels123, if you are contemplating B12 injections or you are discussing them with your doctor you may want to consider getting testing first to find out why you are deficient. If it is simply a dietary issue a round of high-dose sublingual tablets may do the trick. Receiving injections prior to sorting out the cause of the deficiency can cause complications if you don't have an absorption issue. This is something that I really wish would be pointed out more to people who come to this forum for advice. It is not without risks as some would have you believe.....

The knee-jerk advice of "your B-12 is low get shots right away" should really be reconsidered in the absence of the testing I have mentioned above.

Iv been to the doctors all they said to my mum is that I had a slight iron deficiency because of a lot of blood loss last month on my period so I’m on the pill to regulate that’s what they recommend for me and I feel so much better from 4 weeks ago and I eating meat now been eating it for about 2 weeks now just to help my iron go up I’m staying on meat don’t worry I just don’t get why I feel shaky and faint and hate being alone all the time I just feel tired and weak all the time not as bad as weeks ago though So my results were fine on my blood test it was just a slight iron deficiency so I don’t get why I feel like tjos it’s been roughly 5 weeks now
