Hi all, I started experiencing severe hair fall and fatigue 2months back and was diagnosed with low ferritin and vitamin d3. Ferritin is 22.6 and vitamin d3 is 13. Felt a little better after supplementing and hairfall reduced to a very little extent. My dr doubted I might have b12 deficiency as well and suggested I take b12 shits weekly. But post taking 2 shots my hairfall has worsened again. Do u think the b12 shots might have lowered my ferritin again?

ferritin is a measure of iron - and needs to be taken in context though it is usually quite a good measure of iron status. Iron deficiency will cause hair loss.
If you have anaemia as a result of B12 deficiency then it might be possible for iron levels to drop as your body starts to correct the anaemia but of itself B12 won't cause an iron deficiency.
Do you know why your iron was low? Do you have an absorption problem? Are you still supplement iron.
In general correcting a B12 deficiency (one potential symptom of which is hair loss/thinning) would result in thicker hair/regrowth of hair if B12 was the reason for the hair loss.
I have 4 autoimmune conditions including PA and under active thyroid. I thought these were the cause of my hair thinning and eyebrows disappearing. However my Dr agreed to a zinc test when retesting my thyroid and it was very slightly low despite me having been taking multivitamins for the previous 5 months. Since increasing the zinc supplement my eyebrows are starting to fuzz and my hair is getting thicker.
Sometimes symptoms aren’t caused by the obvious conditions.
