I receive b12 injections every 12 weeks and I supplement daily both by tablet and oral spray.
As I understand it, b12 is stored in the liver and released into the gall bladder where along with folic acid etc a substance called intrinsic factor is created.
I am not sure if this is entirely correct but I think it’s roughly right based on my reading.
If this is the case why are we putting so much b12 into our system? Can b12 circulating in our system but outside of our liver be used?
Is there a test to determine whether the b12 is present in ones liver?

The mechanism your body uses to release B12 depends on reabsorption in the ileum, not the gall bladder. If you have an absorption problem this mechanism is broken. It is like having a big hole in the pipe that goes from the reservoir to your house and means that there is only a small trickle of water, if that, by the time it gets to your house. you are now reliant on the B12 that gets directly into and is stored in your blood
