Well i have gone through 2 surgeries in 12 months and still cant get no anwsers, is it the norm these days to get sent to the nuthouse for a B12 problem, pulling my hair out here in frustration think i got a black star curse from previous surgery and it follows me from surgery to surgery, well anyway you people and myself at least think i have so i have ordered a active B12, folate and ferratin blood test private of coarse so i can check that my supplements are going in the right direction but for this i need a venous blood sample so rang this morning to arrange to get them done with the nurse, i was told i could not have bloods done for private but she would see the practice manager and if i could then i would have to pay for it, but manager was away so it will be a couple of weeks, mmmm such an helpful surgery and Doctors i have, well to hell with it i m booked in at spire tomorrow at 10am, should have results back early next week, im curious why my nuerological smptoms and others have made a slight improvement since taking supplements.

If you are taking 1mg B12, daily then I suspect there is little point in an B12 test, active or not. If it is helping your symptoms then continue to take it for a few months. It can awhile for all your B12 symptoms to be fixed. Consider taking folate as well as your levels were low.
You may be able to convince your doctor something is up with B12 with your symptom list. Mark the ones which B12 improves.
Of course if the B12 is not helping then its time to consider other things.
I got some jarrows Methyl B12 & Folate with P-5-P "B6" my vitimin D was only 60 takin 2400iu daily but when they have run out thinking of getting liquid D + K2 i will need to check once in a while though when they are all in the upper range, i am expecting something like 3 months before they kick in properly does that sound about right.
