Oh yes.

I used to feel washed out for around 36 hours after my injection. Others report an increase in some symptoms (especially tingling fingers/toes). Acne is another reported symptom.

I stopped getting any reaction after a while.

Thank you birder.

I have been getting headaches and this started after the injections.

I think others have reported the same. How long do they last? Have you told the doc as they may be unrelated?

They last for about 10 mins and get them about once or twice during the day

I have reported to my Doc and he carried out more blood tests!

I posted a similar question this morning. I finished my loading doses last week and since then I have been waking up with the most horrendous headaches. I hope they stop soon as I can't do anything!

Hi Olly123

I had an allergic reaction when I was "tried" on hydroxo when it was "introduced" in the mid 1980s but as by then I had been on cyanocobamalin for fifteen or so years I was swapped back and have continued with the cyano ever since. It was probably something in the "mix" rather than the cobamalin content itself and my main worry at the time was that with cyano I had injections every four weeks and didn't think I would "last" the three monthly regime.

I do hope your symptoms settle down and wish you well

Hi,

Some people experience a drop in potassium levels when they start B12 treatment. Did GP check your potassium levels?

Scroll down following link to Side Effects section.

bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/hydrox...

in reply toSleepybunny

I get "403 Forbidden" when I go to that link.

Are you from outside the UK? Or using software to change your apparent location?

I don't think the BNF (British National Formulary) is available to people outside the UK.

Then in that case, I can't explain why the link is forbidden to you. It shouldn't be. :(

Hi Olly123. I tried the link and it opened okay.

Try this link:

bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/hydrox...

The BNF guidelines for treatment are:

treatment for those without neurological symptoms - six loading doses given on alternate days - then an injection every three months

Treatment for those with neurological symtpoms - six loading doses given on alternate days - then injections every other day until no further improvement.

👍

I've just finished my 6 injections. Headaches have been my main problem with really tight neck muscles.

Oh dear what did you do for the headaches??

Scorry profile image

Ibuprofen, but they only reduced the pain. Headaches go after 2 days so they should stop now that I have finished the first round of 6 injections as I am not due any more for 3 months.

Are you on the hydroxocolabamin

I don't know Olly. I kept meaning to ask but forgot. I've bought a B12 (Methyl) with Methylfolate in liquid form to take, but not sure when to start taking it.

Iam not sure because I got all mine from the GP
