Could anyone please comment on my folate levels? I have been self treating a B12 deficiency for over a year now using methylcobalamin tablets and spray sub lingually.
I have also been taking Lamberts methyl B complex containing 200 ug of folate as methylfolate (one tablet daily).
BEFORE SUPPLEMENTING
Jan 2016 (GP)
5.8 (range 2.8 - 20) 17% of range
Feb 2016 (private Blue Horizon)
15.25 (range 10.4 - 42.4) 15% of range
AFTER SUPPLEMENTING WITH B complex and B12
Nov 2016 (Blue Horizon)
23.02 (new range 8.83 - 60.8) 27% of range
Are my folate levels still on the low side?
All thoughts / comments greatly appreciated.

Hi seamail57 are you able to increase your daily intake of Folate naturally by eating more leafy green vegetables - sprouts, broccoli, spinach, asparagus, beans, peas etc? If you are in the UK many breakfast cereals are now being fortified with folic acid.
Personally I have taken 1 – Folic Acid 400μg tablet for more years than I can remember but then I receive regular B12 via injections.
There is a complex interaction between folic acid, vitamin B12 and iron. A deficiency of one may be "masked" by excess of another so the three must always be in balance. Folic acid works closely with vitamin B12 in making red blood cells and helps iron function properly in the body.
I am not a medically trained person so cannot advise you what to do but there are others on here who will be able to help or perhaps you could have a word with your pharmacist.
